波角石是已滅絕的鸚鵡螺類。牠們可說是最常見的鸚鵡螺類化石之一，尤其以產於馬達加斯加的波角石最為著名。
表面清晰的波浪狀縫合線，在表面規律排列、帶有微微起伏的優美弧線，其實是內部氣室隔壁與外殼內壁交接的痕跡。波角石最大的特徵，是這種比一般鸚鵡螺更具波折感的縫合線，它們精準地勾勒出頭足類動物獨有的黃金對數螺旋外觀。
完整的立體氣室內部，在地質成岩過程中被方解石等礦物熱液完全填充並結晶。氣室展現出焦糖色與蜜黃色交織的溫潤光澤與寶石質感。局部未平整的區域，更能窺見氣室隔層的立體深度。
